HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SAGE!!!

Dear Sage, 8 years ago yesterday, I became a Dad.

You are a born princess. Everyone of you. Everytime Sabine says "Dad, I'm a Princess. And you are a Prince." My response is always, "Mommy made me a Prince..."

Yes she did. 8 years ago yesterday.

BTW, here are pictures of your birthday dinner with Grand Dy and Cousins at QC

The next day you swam at the village pool...

Elegantly Black Sat.

"Dad, I want popcorn!" That's Sabine's simple wish after graduating from Nursery with HONORS. Partida pa yan, bilis mag review nyan. Frankly, the fact that she enjoys studying makes going to a school named "Calvary" worth it.

Sabine with Teacher Bessie

Dear God, thank you for being faithful to me despite of my weaknesses, my pride, my rage, my pettiness, my defiance... thank you for being faithful despite of myself.

After a week of heartaches, when I took a picture of these kids this morning, I had an inkling that my luck had changed for the better... (That's Kitkat and Boing. They slept over)

Notice my hand... I was really getting lucky.

After the short play about the life of David son of Jesse, the Honor Students were announced. That's Mom on stage with Sabine accepting the Medal for the 5th Honors.

Just before bedtime... there's the talent show. Hosted by Ate Sage and Ate Kit. First one up is Sabine... Click on the arrows to play the video

Presenting.... Boing (it's a cover of the cuppycake song but he just composed the lyrics himself on that very night)

the amazing Sadie

Heeeere's KitKat!!!

Heeeeerrreee's Sadie!!!

and Finally... SAGE!!!

Spring Equinox 2008

Dear Sage, Sabine, Sadie; Yesterday morning, we left the house in Pasig and after picking-up your Mom at SLMC, we stayed here at QC to visit my Dad and to take care of Kitkat and Boing. Ninong El and Ninang Jen are in Baguio to monitor Bigsound FM there which just went on air. The only one left in Pasig is your lola. You guys played all day and upto around 10pm. When we were kids like you, we were not allowed to play, to watch TV, even to laugh out loud before black saturday.

Two Years Ago I wrote a blog entry about a Prose that mirrors the event that we are remembering today- Christ's sacrifice on the cross, the sacrifice for Love. It's from the book "Thorn Birds" . I think it's appropriate to re-post it here.

"There is a legend about a bird
which sings just once in its life
more sweetly than any creature on the face of the Earth.
Upon leaving its nest it searches for a Thorn Tree
and does not rest until it has found one.
Then, singing among the savage branches it impales itself
against the longest, sharpest spine.
And dying, it rises above its own agony
to out-carol the Lark and the Nightingale.

with ONE, superlative song-- Existence the price.
Yet the whole world stills to listen,
And God in his Heaven smiles.

For the best is bought only at the cost of great pain...

or so, says the legend."--Ralph Cardinal DeBricassart

May the Glory of Easter Morning, and the mornings to come after that, more than balance the Gloom of Good Friday and the days leading up to it.

Whatafool!

Dear Atticus,

I just read your latest blog entry (click on the link and lyrics below)

http://mayamanako.blogspot.com/2008/03/kissing-fool.html

You are far
When i could have been your star
You listened to people
Who scared you to death, and from my heart
Strange that you were strong enough
To even make a start
But you'll never find
Peace of mind,
Til you listen to your heart

People
You can never change the way they feel
Better let them do just what they will
For they will
If you let them
Steal your heart from you
People
Will always make a lover feel a fool
But you knew i loved you
We could have shown them all
We should have seen love through

Fooled me with the tears in your eyes
Covered me with kisses and ties
So goodbye
But please don't take my heart

You are far
I'm never gonna be your star
I'll pick up the pieces
And mend my heart
Maybe i'll be strong enough
I don't know where to start
But i'll never find
Peace of mind
While i listen to my heart

People
You can never change the way they feel
Better let them do just what they will,
For they will
If you let them
Steal your heart

And people
Will always make a lover feel a fool
But you knew i loved you
We could have shown them all

But remember this
Every other kiss
That you ever give
Long as we both live
When you need the hand of another man
One you really can surrender with
I will wait for you
Like i always do
There's something there
That can't compare with any other

You are far
When i could have been your star
You listened to people
Who scared you to death, and from my heart
Strange that i was wrong enough
To think you'd love me too
I guess you were kissing a fool
You must have been kissing a fool

ang sabi mo, Atticus, si George Michael wrote it with a man in mind (anselmo) and not a fascinating girl?

Lintek sya!

Sorry, pero in my book, that's more blashphemous than saying "Happy Good Friday..."

Man! I'm in such a foul mood I'd probably eat dinuguan and puto bukas (byernes)! I hope you and our friends from abs-cbn (lalu na yung nasa bora who's wearing her expensive bikinis) have much better luck than yours truly. Darn. I sound just like... I might aswell change the title of this blog to snglguy.com2

40 YEARS OLD

Memo to self:

Admit it. You've been old since you were 20.
You never thought you'd reach

40...

You always thought you'd die before reaching it
You never thought you'd be given a long life
You never thought you'd live forever.
You never thought you'd find HER...

You never thought you'd be HAPPY.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OLD MAN.
(And No, you're not referring to Poseidon.)

On Tolerance

Dear Kids, someday you will receive spam mail with this picture and an allegation that the child is a Muslim and he is being punished because he stole a loaf of bread. It was meant to provoke hatred towards our Muslim Brothers so please do not believe the spam.

We have no right to Judge the Moslems. Because we know NOTHING about ISLAM.

A child was caught stealing bread in a remote area in the Philippines run by Christians who believe in the interpreting their Holy Book, THE BIBLE, literally...

IN the name of their religion, the child is punished. Because it says in their Holy Book:

"If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire" Mark 9:43

There are some parts of the Bible which our religion do not interpret literally (Mark 9:43 is one of them) kaya ang mga muslim ay hindi dapat mag cite ng verse, out of context, para lang tayo i criticize. WALA TAYONG KARAPATAN.

Please be tolerant of other people's Religion. Always pray for them.

Sya nga pala, Dhes, We know you are in Lanao right now. Ingat Kayo! God Keep You All Safe!!!

525,600 minutes x 40

525,600 minutes

525,000 moments so dear

525,646 minutes

how do you measure,

measure a year?

In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights ...in cups of coffee.

In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife
In 525,600 minutes
How do you measure a year in the life?...

How about Love?

Measure in love.

Ides of March

"Caesar, beware the ides of March"

Syempre natigok sya kaagad.

MANIGAS KAYO!

MALAYO PA ANG UMAGA

when the PeoplePower icon of the past shares the stage with a farce, she becomes one too.

When the best and the brightest that this generation has to offer is either Chiz escudero, who thinks that Erap and Marcos did no wrong; or Mike Defensor, who thinks that Gloria is the best president we've had, then,

THE FUTURE ITSELF IS DYING. (my apologies to the speechwriter of W.Bush. I snitched the phrase from him)

Kanta na lang tayo. Marunong ba kayong mag gitara?

CGF-GCGF-G

Malayo pa ang umaga, 'di matanaw ang pag-asa

EAmFC
