On Tolerance

Dear Kids, someday you will receive spam mail with this picture and an allegation that the child is a Muslim and he is being punished because he stole a loaf of bread. It was meant to provoke hatred towards our Muslim Brothers so please do not believe the spam.

We have no right to Judge the Moslems. Because we know NOTHING about ISLAM. Hindi naman tayo Muslim e.

Unfair sa kanila yung words sa email. Imagine nyo kung ang spam ay may ganitong subtitle:

A child was caught stealing bread in a remote area in the Philippines run by Christians who believe in the interpreting their Holy Book, THE BIBLE, literally...

IN the name of their religion, the child is punished. Because it says in their Holy Book:

"If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire" Mark 9:43

There are some parts of the Bible which our religion do not interpret literally (Mark 9:43 is one of them) kaya ang mga muslim ay hindi dapat mag cite ng verse, out of context, para lang tayo i criticize. At tayo din, hindi dapat kutyain ang Qur'an (Koran) dahil wala tayong alam dun. WALA TAYONG KARAPATAN.

Please be tolerant of other people's Religion. Always pray for them.

Sya nga pala, Dhes, We know you are in Lanao right now. Ingat Kayo! God Keep You All Safe!!!

there will always be people who will interpret written words to the extreme. and they will always be people who will believe them. it's nice to teach kids the value of critical thinking.

funny. yesterday i got an email from some jacobs person telling me she's visiting the philippines and we will be saved. asus. dami talagang bulaang propeta.

The final arbiter when it comes to interpreting the bible, the supreme court in our religion, is the pope himself when he speaks in "ex cathedra." however this power was abused. kaya nga may middle ages e. that's is why it is healthy to have other sects because it keeps this power of the pope in check. especially the one we have right now. I've been following his career for the past 10 years. I call him Benedict Arnold II.

Mean and unfair- to any religion. When I received the spam, the tirade was unfairly directed towards the moslems. Because of it some groups actually believed that the followers of Islam are as inhuman as depicted here.

I tried to show that the spam could be used against Bible-Based Christians too. Like the Moslems, our beliefs could also be used by unscrupulous individuals to denigrate us in the eyes of the unsuspecting citizens of cyberspace who know nothing about the Bible and Christianity.

The message I'm trying to tell my kids is that they should take time to check the veracity of emails especially the ones directed against members of a particular race, creed or whatnot (in my case, I usually go to SNOPES.COM)

Thanks for dropping by. I didn't mean to offend your sensibilities btw.
